NEVER FORGET, NEVER EVER EVER :)

Hello and happy February!!

Get ready for some of thee coolest stories this week....this week was one for the books:) haha

Elizabeth Smart came to ISU campus as part of a lecture series and we got to go and meet her afterwards. Her story is absolutely amazing. It's an experience I will never forget. The next day we got to drive to Bloomington for Zone Conferences. It was one of the most powerful conferences I've been to. We talked about the importance and significance of the restoration and then we got to roll play a Restoration lesson to another companionship. Guess who we got as our roll playing companionship? President and Sister Carlson!!! And let me tell ya, it. was. cool. After we were done, they taught US and I just think it was SO NEAT to be able to hear the Restoration coming from my mission president and his sweet wife. Another one of those moments that I MUST never forget:)

Alright hold on tight for this one. "A'S" is absolutely AMAZING!! She is blowing my mind. This week we taught her about the word of wisdom. She selflessly, and full of faith said that she would give up coffee. If it's what the Lord wanted, she would do it.

After a prompting, Sister Kammerman told her about keeping our body like a Temple and following the prophet as we stay away from multiple piercings and tattoos. Right then she put her hands up to her face to cover her nose ring. She didn't want to take it out, but she said, "There is a voice in my head. It just keeps saying, 'Take it out "A'S", just take it out.' so, I don't want to, but I'm just going to take it out." AND SHE DID!! RIGHT THERE!!! It was amazing. We just sat there in awe! hahaha we promised that she would see blessings from her devotion to keeping the commandments and for sacrificing something she wanted...and then the very next morning she said that she already saw that come true! I know when we keep the commandments, blessings follow, blessings that are even greater than the "sacrifice" we feel like we are making by keeping them. What a great lesson she taught me by her example. :)

We met with Brotha "A" this week! He is really searching for an answer to a question he has. So we talked about it and showed him some scriptures but it wasn't quite settled yet. Something was missing. SO we knelt down right then and he offered a prayer, asking Heavenly Father his question specifically and we waited silently for an answer. The spirit totally flooded the room. It was so powerful. I handed him the Book of Mormon and he opened it up RIGHT to a scripture to back up exactly what we had been talking about, it was absolutely perfect. He said that he felt the spirit stronger than he had that whole day at church. We could have talked all day to him, but it wouldn't even compare to the impact that that experience had on him, because it came from the Holy Ghost and from Heavenly Father. AMAZING!!
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." ~Isaiah 55:8-9
Every week I think I will write a shorter letter....my apologies! Love you! Have a happy week!
