REAL MISSIONARIES RIDE BIKES ;)

Hello everyone! What a fun week this week!!

Highlight was probably that WE GOT BIKES:) We got very few miles for our car this month, so some awesome members in our ward gave us bikes to use this week! haha I think we are a little too excited about it.... :) We walked so much this week, which is fun too!

Monday we went to the zoo and then we went to Bubs for dinner, talk about fun p-day right?
Glad we are at the zoo...
'Cause I think I found the monkey's...heehee

At Bubs they have this challenge called "The Big Ugly" which is a hamburger of 1 pound of meat and 1/2 pound of bread for the bun...plus cheese and all that good stuff. The elders gave it a go and Elder Christiansen actually finished. Good times :)

Bubs Menu...Would you like our regular large, oversized large, even larger large, or largest large ever burger?

The rest of the week we spent doing a looottttt of service which I love!! We were able to teach Reverend W* again and he basically told US the Restoration:) He said if he found out that it was true, and the Book of Mormon was true, then he would be baptized :) This is the guy who is a Reverend of his church and believes that it doesn't have the fullness of the gospel. I'm so excited about him!! Let me tell you about the fullness of the Gospel Reverend!

Another highlight: We took L* to our Recent Convert Temple Baptism Day!!! It was the coolest experience. She was able to get baptized for her grandma and let me tell ya, the spirit was so strong! I absolutely love the Temple. We are so blessed to have one so close! We also had to say goodbye to President Cleveland at the temple! I can't believe it's already time for him to go! Sure love him, but I'm also very excited to meet President Carlson this week too:) New and exciting things coming our way:)

"And I, Moroni, having heard these words, was comforted, and said: O Lord, thy righteous will be done, for I know that thou workest unto the children of men according to their faith; For the brother of Jared said unto the mountain Zerin, Remove—and it was removed. And if he had not had faith it would not have moved; wherefore thou workest after men have faith. For thus didst thou manifest thyself unto thy disciples; for after they had faith, and did speak in thy name, thou didst show thyself unto them in great power."
~Ether 12:29-31

I know that with our faith, God can work mighty miracles. Keep that faith :) Have a great week!

xoxo

They talked about finding joy in the journey...you can imagine I was eating that up:):):):) I got asked to sing ANOTHER song too...so we sang Glorious, Come Unto Christ and the EFY medley! I recorded it;):):):):) It was soooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

GOIN' TO THE ZOO :)

Hello Everyone*
I have to be quick today because we are going to the Zoo with our Zone:) I'm so excited! This week was exciting. We had more rain than I have ever seen in my life haha The Lord watches over us though, it started to pour right when we got to a door, and then let up again for us to walk to the car, then poured again when we were IN the car haha

Also...exciting news for the week...I saw my very first lightening bug! They are pretty much my favorite thing ever- when we are walking home at night, they all start to come out and its pretty cool to see! OH...I also held a massive spider....so there is that. It was a week of "firsts" :) lol

We had our very last zone conference with President and Sister Cleveland. It was amaaazing! I'm sure going to miss them! We talked about finding joy in the journey! I was also asked to sing too which I absolutley loved!! We sang Glorious and Come Unto Christ and then all of the missionaries sang the EFY Medley! I love the spirit that music brings.

Miracle moment :) We did some unexpected tracting Friday morning and no one was home. But then all the sudden, the elders called us. They were super excited and said that they had found an awesome Chinese family who LOVES Mormons. They sent us over there...because we can speak Chinese...I mean....some of us can haha...AND found out that they had met the missionaries in Alaska. When our elders knocked on their door, they recognized them because of their white shirts and name tags and let them in! Come to find out that they used to go to church all the time with the Alaska missionaries. She even said that she tried going to church here too but couldn't find it! Such a miracle!! We are going to start teaching them this week EEP!

Thanks so much for all the support! I sure love you guys! Keep Smiling:)

TODAY=5 MONTH MARK!!

...but lets not talk about it :)

Hello Everyone:)
Hope you are all enjoying your summer! I still can't believe its summer..
I'll say it a billion times....time is going too fast:)

This week was wonnddeerrrfuuull!! We had transfers which was SO FUN to see all my good missionary friends...I sure love the friendships you make on missions...they kinda rock:) Sister Luo and I are staying in Carmel to finish her training....can you believe she is half-way done? WOW! It has been just the funnest experience ever! Also can't believe this is my last transfer in my area...this place has my heart:)

I spy Indianapolis

This week has been one of HUUUMMIIDDDIITTYYY and 100-ish degree weather! BUT I sure love the sun! Right after transfers, we went to "J" (a less-active member of our ward). We LOVE "J"! The whole time I have been here, she has not wanted to meet with us. Lately we have made the best friendship with her! We did service at her house and then she took us out to eat at Bubs the other night! Huge progress! We are so excited:) plus food is always a plus...;)

OH and right before transfer meeting, President Cleveland asked us to go to the mission home and help clean after all the new missionaries left! I don't know why, but that was just the funnest thing ever! We got to see all the new missionaries and meet them. It made me think back to my very first few days here. It's such a special time! I can't even describe how much I looovveeeee missions!:)

I had a cool experience while tracting the other day. We met a Chinese lady, and Sister Luo being the amazing missionary that she is, got into the most amazing conversation with this lady about God in her life. They were speaking in Chinese, and then Sister Luo started speaking in English and we both started teaching. I didn't know what they had been talking about, or what this sweet lady's need was. But I was very prompted to change the lesson a little bit, and say something very specific to her. It kinda surprised me...I normally never include what I said in a first contact lesson. But she seemed to be touched by it...so I kept going haha When we got back in the car, Sister Luo started freaking out, "You are so in the spirit Sister Burgon" haha I was like what? She told me that what I had said, was something that they had been talking about and it was just what she needed to hear. I was sooo amazed that Heavenly Father would trust me enough to be His mouthpiece!! He is so aware of all of His children! AHH SO COOL:)

We also had "Why I Believe" again yesterday! That's where recent converts get to share their story and testimony! You can imagine how strong the spirit is there! The Estes drove us and also spoke ... I just looovvee them!
Cute Estes family

This week I just really learned how important it is to have the spirit with us always. And to be worthy of its presence! With the spirit, we will be guided and directed in all things that we should do!

Love you!

WEEK 19.....I THINK :)

note from Mama B......It's actually Week 21!!! I'm counting even if she's not...hahahaha

Hello!! Happy Summer! I can't believe it's June already!! :)

This week was so awesome! We had the best lesson EVER with "L". Even with all the crazy things that are happening right now, she continues to turn to the Gospel and it is making the biggest difference in her life! And its not big things either, she is just turning to the scriptures, improving her prayers, attending church, relying on the Lord....I can't even tell you how much it has helped her! Its the little things we do everyday that help us through the darkest trials in life! I know that for a fact:) Yay for "L"!

Transfer time...Saying goodbye to some of these goofballs. So sad but so excited for their next adventures.

Heavenly Father never ceases to amaze me with how He answers our prayers, in HIS way and HIS timing. We were able to see "S" this week!! AHHHHHH We knocked on her door and her HUSBAND anwered and said, "Hey Guys! Come on in." .....uhhh what???? (Need a refresher? Please see last weeks post) And I'm not even joking...pretty sure we just stood there for a second in awe. Wake up sistas....act professional...don't cry. :D haha We went in and had the best conversation with him. We just became friends and got to know him better....but he was ACTUALLY TALKING TO US. And he didn't kick us out...or threaten anyone....like people this is huge:) Then we shared a general message on prayer from the bible and he was into it! Later "S" told us that he has admitted that he needs to stop drinking and improve himself. We didn't see this coming and neither did she! But now he is so much more supportive of "S" wanting to improve her life too!! Baby steps...baby steps...but holy cow we were freaking out! I'm so grateful...Heavenly Father is preparing the way for them better than we could imagine!

We had a sweet YW come with us one day who just received her mission call to Brazil. It was so fun to have her there...we were talking about missions and it was one of those moments where I couldn't believe that I was actually a missionary...finally! Even though I've been here for a while, I just got so excited hahaha I love being a missionary! How great is my calling:)

OH one more cool experience...we were heading to an appointment and it ended up falling through, so a lady popped into our heads that we should go visit. We showed up to her house but she wasn't available either. BUT we saw a huge moving truck across the street so we went to see if they needed help! Turns out that they had people scheduled to come help them move, but they never showed up, so this family was left to move by themselves. Talk about crazy cool timing. We were able to help them bring in their things and we could tell they were super appreciative. I LOVE SERVICE! Also a cool part of the story...we have a return appointment with them next week:) Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
BeautINDYful Sunset!!!
"And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings; Which light proceedeth forth from the presence of God to fill the immensity of space-The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things, which is the law by which all things are governed, even the power of God who sitteth upon his throne, who is in the bosom of eternity, who is in the midst of all things."

As for our scripture this week....D&C 88:11-13...the world needs some light right now! I know that light is only from Christ. Go let that light shine:):):)
