HERE COMES THE SUN...DO DO DO DO...

h e l l o  f r i e n d s

t'was a great one this week...The work just reeeeallllyyy progressed and the sun was out and miracles happened...and it went by sooooo fast. My my my. We got transfer calls and found out that I will be getting a new companion, Sister Gray! :)

For da work: Remember that really cool mormon message where one young man joins the church and then invites his friend who ends up joining the church too? And then he invites his friends who joins and brings another friend...and pretty soon, a whole big group of friends were strong memebers of the church. WELL we are miraculously seeing that here too! E ___, a recent convert, has 3 super close friends who have all started taking the lessons from us. Not only that, but they are searrcchhiinngg, all in their own way. It's been the coolest thing to watch them all be prepared over time, and then all of them start being taught more regularly this week. Just the thought of all of them being taught and the potential they have has made us so happy. Their names are J ___, Z ___ and M_____. Stay tuned:)

We also had the opportunity to go to Zone Conference and learn from the AP's and President and Sister Carlson. How cool is this: Prayer really is the way to unlock the powers of Heaven in our lives...and this is why. When we pray, we are talking to Heavenly Father: -GOD. We close by saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." -JESUS CHRIST. And we sit and wait and listen and seek inspiration from the Spirit. -THE HOLY GHOST. So you are involving and conversing with the entire Godhead when you are praying. There is a reason that prayer is the answer to everything:) coooooool.

We also got to go to the Recent-Convert Temple baptism day for the mission and every time I go I just feel so blessed. ALSO getting super excited for General Conference....THIS WEEK ERYBODY!! Its so close!! :)

I heard a scripture that President Carlson mentioned and it applied really well to the time that I have left here and the things that I would like to accomplish.

John 4: 34-36
"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together."

Pretty cool stuff! I love you all, thanks for the love and support. THIS IS THE WORK OF THE LORD. :) Ain't it great?

CALLED TO STALK

haha hey :)
this week, Sister Griffiths and I had a moment of realization...
that missionaries are just the Lord's official stalkers haha in the best way possible of course.
We have fun:)

It was Spring Break on campus this week so no students were here, but somehow we still had people to teach and saw miracles....the Lord provides that's for sure.

A___ was in town for spring break so we got to teach her:) which was soooo fun, like the good ol times. And in fact we asked her to teach us her favorite lesson, of course A___ being the superwoman that she is....she said yes and taught us the Plan of Salvation. She did so good and it was cool to see her insights and what stood out to her most. The rest of our week after that lesson consisted of deep conversations about the Plan that Heavenly Father has for us, and the conclusion is: it is just perfect, His plan for you is juuuuuust perfect.

One day we decided to check out campus to try again, it was dead of course so we decided to leave to be more productive elsewhere, but on our way out, we ran into one of our potential investigators. His appointment didn't work out last week, so we decided to just sit down right there and have our lesson. So we did, and it was no coincidence that we just so happen to see him that day, because that lesson was goooood. His need was really prevalent and the Gospel had a lot of application to him. Then as we were finishing up, his friend came and sat down and started asking really good questions too, so we had like another little lesson haha but now they are both interested and we are  e x c i t e d  for them:)

Another fun fact for the week....there are a lot of Spanish speakers here, and occasionally we get texts in Spanish, or talk to the Spanish missionaries, or Spanish investigators...we learned real quick this week (after me reading a text in Spanish) that Sister Burgon is real white and it's a good thing I got called to speak english hahahahaha good laughs for sure:)

We also got to teach D___ and M___ this week. Its really cool to see their desire to learn. They have been taught before, so it's awesome to teach them again and refresh their memories and see their interest increase. Their little sister, A___, sat in on the lesson too and now we are teaching her YAY:)

I HAVE THE STRONGEST TESTIMONY OF MEMBER MISSIONARY WORK!!! All of our investigators that came to church yesterday were because of members helping us out, bringing their friends, and just doing a really good job to connect and fellowship.

I know that Heavenly Father is there and He listens to your prayers... This week I had the most amazing experience as I stopped and listened too. I know prayer isn't just a one way message, but a way to communicate to and hear God in your life. Isn't the Gospel cool?

"The light of the body is the eye
if, therefore, thine eye be single
thy whole body shall be full of light."

SO THAT'S WHY HE WOKE UP....

HELLO FRIENDS!!!
I have cool stories this week and not so much time...so please keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times!!

Remember the guy that woke up after I prayed for him to wake up so we could teach him? GUESS WHAT....we had his return appointment this week and it was not what we were expecting it to be. We got there, had a good talk, the lesson was going decently...and then all of the sudden, out of the blue he says, "Well ya see, I have a problem with a few things." and continued to bring up anti and bash us haha It was actually a very powerful experience as Sister Griffiths and I listened, and then testified. It felt good to know with assurance that this Gospel is true...even though he told me so boldly that it wasn't.

I got to thinking, "Why would Heavenly Father answer my prayer to wake him up, if he knew that he would bash us?" The answer that came to my mind touched me so much!! Heavenly Father answered my prayer not because he knew that guy would be solid, drop everything, and be baptized. He answered my prayer to show ME that He is there, that He cares, and the He is aware of our efforts everyday. He showed me that if it is important to me, it is important to Him too. As funny as the whole experience was and ended up to be- it was one of the most profound and amazing lessons He could have taught me. HE IS THERE AND LOVES YOU I KNOW IT:)

Also...you know this is the work of the Lord when you:
  1. find a guy who is stressed for his midterm that he is running late to, and talk to him only to find out he's not super religious
  2. tell him you'll pray for him and hand him a card on his way out the door
  3. pass him later in the day on the escalator as he high-fives you and says, "your prayer worked, my mid-term got rescheduled. That's good enough for me, I Believe!!!"
  4. realize that you are crazy for not turning around and going down backwards on the escalator to catch up with him....so you turn around and go back the civilized way :)
  5. AND FIND HIM MID-CAMPUS ONCE AGAIN and get him to text you
  6. (updates to come...we are meeting with him this week woooooot)
Word of advice: don't forget your phone on exchanges because then you have to be a super old fashioned missionary all day without any technology whatsoever...but it was fun:)

We also had MLC (missionary leadership council) with Brother Donaldson of the missionary department. He gave the greatest trainings to us that I seriously believe will change the way we do missionary work. It was exactly what we needed for our area and we had the best time. Best part about it? It was so simple. "Where are they at?" That's what we have to ask. Where are you your journey of following the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Are you at Faith? Repentance? Baptism/Sacrament? The Gift of the Holy Ghost? Enduring to the End? :) COOL now work towards the next step:) I love that this is a gospel of progression!!

HIGHLIGHT: We got to go back to Terre Haute for A__'s baptism! It was one of the most powerful experiences! I am sooo happy for her-she was absolutely glowing and she gave the best testimony. It was amazing to see everyone from Terre Haute- it was the warmest welcome. Blessed to have such a great family down there in Terre Home :)

Love you all! Have a happy week! Thanks for all the love, support and prayers!

SUP HOMIES....

"

                                                                             ."
- I was explaining how awesome this week was, sorry you can't read it..It was in sign language hahaha I promise it was great.
~Note from Mom...Her companion is also an American Sign Language missionary. Emily took ASL as her foreign language in High School. The two of them like to sign back and forth...We get comments like this now. hahaha

Exchanges with S. Peterson
This week was packed! We had two exchanges with two amazing sets of Sisters from Indy and Brownsburg....I just love these sisters...I swear they teach me more than I could ever teach them. We were blessed to find so many prepared people together and it was so much fun!

Exchanges with S. Forseth
STORY TIME: This week during my studies, I read about a Sister Missionary who sat next to a lady on a bus. Right after she sat next to her, the lady fell asleep. The Sister missionary quickly prayed to have help talking to this lady. Soon after her prayer, the lady woke up and they were able to have a great gospel conversation that the sleeping lady so deeply needed. WELL fast forward to a very cool moment on campus...we found a guy dead asleep at a table inside. We sat down next to him and we reallllyyyy wanted to talk to him. Sister Griffiths quickly looked at me and said, "Dude! It's exactly like your studies, pray for help!!" hahaha So I did!! I bowed my head and closed my eyes and said, "Heavenly Father, please help us to talk to this guy who is asleep, we really want to talk to him. Please help him to wake up if it's okay with you." I said amen and so did he;) haha I looked up from the prayer and he shot up from sleeping like he had been hit by a bolt of lightening and just woke up. He looked at us as he rubbed his eyes and it took everything in us to act natural... we were just a liiiiiittttleeee excited and in awe. So then we got to talk to him!!:) Heavenly Father is there and aware...you just can't deny that.

So update from Terre Haute...A__and J__ are on FIRE and doing amazing! A__ will be baptized this Saturday and President is letting me go back for it!!!! Cannot wait to be back in Terre Home and see all my friieeenddss. Pray for A__ this weeeeeek!! Sister Kammerman also told me that they are both helping teach lessons to investigators, and I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to see them doing so well. :)

We also got to go all the way up to Mishawaka to see one of Sister Griffiths' investigators get baptized!!! SOOOOO pumped for her! It was such a good time:)

OH supa cool- one of our investigators brought a friend to his lesson last night...any guess...what.... guess what...the friend was suuuper interested. His name is A__ and I promise this guy has huge potential. I'm just really excited about it. Thanks for letting me share!

This week we did music fast...so we only listened to hymns and talks and it was amazing honestly. (instead of all of our other gospel music and Disney tunes) We listened to one talk by Hank Smith and something he said really touched me....he said, "I'd rather sit in my room without friends than sit in my room without the Holy Ghost" Do everything you can to keep/increase the Holy Ghost in your life. I promise it truly is the greatest gift of all.

LOVE YOU xoxo
